Occupying a coveted corner spot on the ever-trendy Emek Refaim, HaMoshava 54 boasts a bright, sun-splashed interior courtesy of its glass walls, and an interior that evokes historical and modern Jerusalem mostly via tiles (traditional Middle Eastern on the floor, modern pop-artsy on the wall).
The bill of fare adheres comfortably to the current German Colony tradition of sort of Mediterranean comfort food with pan-global aspirations, elegantly presented. The menu, split into categories of price from 10 NIS to 54 NIS, includes such charming offerings as crispy-coated mashed potato balls, chili chicken wings, and roasted eggplant with black lentils, as well as more "traditional" Jerusalem bistro fare like beef carpaccio, focaccia, schnitzel, pasta, chicken livers and Middle Eastern conceits like lamb or spring chicken kebabs.
A specials menu, running from 54 to 74 NIS, changes daily, as do the dessert offerings. In addition to sitting at a regular old table, diners can sit at the bar and catch the latest game, or lounge about on sofas. The restaurant is available for private bookings of groups up to 15.
