Description:
Israel's northern Mediterranean coast holds some of the country's most captivating tourist sites, from ancient ruins to captivating cities to stunning scenery, all kissed by the salty breezes of the sea. With this tour, you'll visit all the highlights in a full day's worth of sightseeing.
You'll leave Tel Aviv or Jerusalem and drive along Israel's coastal highway to Caesarea, one-time administrative capital of Roman Judea and home to some of the finest Roman ruins you can see on this side of the Mediterranean, as well as impressive Crusader fortifications.
You'll then head to Acre, a Crusader stronghold still honeycombed with the ruins left behind by more than two centuries of European forays in the Holy Land - as well as evidence of Napoleon's ill-fated naval assault on the city. In addition to the ruins, you'll walk through the Old City an take in the sights and sounds of the Oriental Market and the port.
Afterwards, you'll continue northward, almost to the Lebanese border, and descend by cable car to Rosh HaNikra, a complex of magnificent grottoes carved into a soft chalk cliff by the relentless pounding of the sea.
You'll end the day in Haifa with a stop at the summit of famous Mount Carmel, which affords an amazing views of the immaculately manicured Baha'i Gardens and the Haifa port.
