The Israel Festival opens with a tribute to Yossi Banai

OPENING PERFORMANCE
The Israel Festival is proud to present a tribute performance to one of the greatest performers Israeli culture has ever known – Yossi Banai, an artist whose work left a mark on all of us. It is not for nothing that this show is taking place in Jerusalem. Although Banai left Jerusalem after his military service, he always kept a special place in his heart for the city. He visited often, and his name was associated with the city.
The evening includes sketches and songs from throughout Banai’s rich career. An all-star cast of musicians and actors performs personal, often surprising interpretations of Banai’s greatest sketches – dialogues, monologues, music, and video.
Participants (in alphabetical order):
Assi Levy, Dovale Glickman, Efrat Gosh, Hadag Nahash, Itay Tiran, Karolina, Knesiyat Hasechel, Maor Cohen, Matti Caspi, Mookie, Moshe Ivgy, Shlomi Shaban, Tiki Dayan, and others
The Israel Festival wishes to thank the Jerusalem Municipality – Culture and Arts Department and the Steinberg Music Center for its support in making this show possible.
