Housed in an expansive stone building where Agrippas Street meets Ben Tzvi Boulevard, Ima proclaims its culinary weltanschauung with its name alone. It means "mom," and Ima's food is unabashedly simple and homestyle, just like mom theoretically used to make.
This is not really a restaurant that caters to residents of Jerusalem, who generally know how to find the same food in more modestly-priced surroundings; Ima is largely a place for tourists, both foreign and Israeli. But if that description fits you, there's certainly nothing wrong with Ima, even if the same skewers cost half as much further up the street – sometimes, you're willing to pay a bit extra for a cozy restaurant environment.
