A relative newcomer to central Jerusalem's high-end culinary scene, Scala represents a collaboration of the best local ingredients and international cooking techniques. Chef Oren Yerushalmi and Chef Meir Adoni's menu consists of medium-sized dishes optimized for sharing, with options including lamb-stuffed onions served with black lentils, root vegetables, tahini and date honey; seared sea bream served with tomato confit, roasted peppers, eggplant, shallots, chili and green olives; and desserts like chocolate brule with chocolate brownies and caramelized bananas.
Renowned Italian architect Piero Lissoni's design for Scala combines contemporary Milan's visual trends with local design elements, combining materials imported from Italy with a distinctly warm, Jerusalem-centric color pallet.
Meals generally cost 220 NIS per person.
Scala also hosts a swanky bar. Bargoers who don't plan to dine can supplement their cocktails with selections from a special bar-only menu of tapas, with each delectable plate running 40 NIS.
