The smoothly worn golden stone alleyways and century-old architecture of Nachalat Shiva in downtown Jerusalem no longer house deeply religious Jewish families laying a claim to west Jerusalem, but the neighborhood has traded in its former residents for cats, a nightlife crowd, and a dizzying profusion of hip eateries.
A recent addition to the last is Zuni, housed on the second floor of one of Nachalat Shiva's time-worn buildings right off the Yoel Salomon pedestrian mall, affirming its allegiance to the burgeoning Israeli tradition of trendy pan-European bistros with a full bar, a French/Italian/Mediterranean menu and a sea of dark wood.
But Zuni reaches beyond the night and business lunch crowd – a full breakfast menu is offered, and the owners, a husband and wife team, plan to expand to a 24-hour schedule. The evening menu offers pastas and salads, with main courses ranging from fish filet to hamburger to Mulard leg.Everyday 10:00 to Last Customer
