Israel may have come a long way in the development of a serious coffee culture since the not-so-distant days when the very height of the Israeli coffee experience was nes al chalav, Nescafe coffee crystals prepared in hot milk, but the American-style coffeehouse stocked floor-to-ceiling with exotic flavor-of-the-week beans from every corner of the Earth is not yet the norm.
However, for those coffee drinkers who crave that kind of establishment, there's The Coffee Mill (Tachanat Hacafe), a charming shop near the beginning of Emek Refaim Street.
The Coffee Mill stocks a massive selection of coffee from around the world, available ready-made at the shop or to take home by the kilo, including both traditional coffee-lovers' varieties (Guatemalan, Sumatran, Ethiopian and more) and more creative treatments of the humble coffee bean (mint chocolate, butterscotch).
Tea drinkers will be pleased to find an equally broad selection of exotic leaves. The Coffee Mill also serves sandwiches, salads and pastries.
