Beit Avi Chai presents "Piano and Tin Drum": From the North to Yemen
Thursday ǀ 23.1 ǀ 8:30 PM
Reuven Rubin, Moshe Vilensky, Natan Alterman and many other artists have been entranced by the immigrants from Yemen and have found inspiration from them for their works.
On the other hand, the Yemenite songs and dances have received western accompaniment, harmony and arrangements by Yemenite artists such as Sarah Levy Tenay, Bracha Shapira and others.
On this special evening, staged for the first time at BEIT AVI CHAI, Yonit Shaked Golan will present a combined program of familiar songs and those that are slightly less familiar, the results of the encounter between Yemen and Europe. Amongst the songs: “Miriam the Daughter of Nissim”, “In Yemen’s Vineyards”, “Precious Darling” and more.
Guests: The singer and actress Galit Giat and the singer and artist Chen Levy.
With:
Gabi Argov - piano, arrangements and musical direction
Gadi Seri - percussion
Gilad Efrat - contrabass
Yoni Dror / Eyal Sela - wind instruments
Price: NIS 50, Students: NIS 20
