Beit Avi Chai presents "The Hazon Ish": Halakhic decisor, believer, and leader of the Charedi revolution
Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz (1878-1953), better known as the Hazon Ish after the series of books he wrote, was one of the greatest rabbis of the twentieth century and is considered the most prominent Charedi leader of Israel's early years.
His meeting with David Ben-Gurion (1952) reflected the confrontation between secular Zionism and the emerging Israeli "Charedism." In the eyes of many, the Hazon Ish is the symbol of this "Charedism."
