Beit Avi Chai presents "The Summer of Avia": A dramatic presentation based on the book by Gila Almagor

The award-winning one-woman show by Gila Almagor tells the story of a summer in the life of a girl, the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, in the early days of the state. The girl, Avia, has been sent to a boarding school because of her mother's illness. During summer vacation, she returns to her neighborhood, but staying there confronts her with her mother's troubles and her own problems. It's a story about the struggle for emotional and physical survival by Holocaust victims who have also become victims in the country that was supposed to have been their safe haven.
