Beit Avi chai presents "Table: Classwork": A play based on the works of Ida Fink.
• Sunday, November 14, 8:30 PM
• Wednesday, November 24, 8:30 PM
Four witnesses testify about a roundup and massacre that took place in a city square during the Holocaust. The investigator is mainly interested in the table that may or may not have been in the square. Amidst the heartrending personal recollections and the demand for relevant evidence devoid of sentiment, the audience is compelled to examine its role as a community of witnesses.
Based on Table: A Play for Four Voices and Basso Ostinato and In Front of the Mirror by Israel Prize winner Ida Fink.
From Ida Fink: All the Stories, translated into Hebrew by David Weinfeld (Am Oved, 2004).
The play will be followed by a discussion with Marit Ben-Israel, author and Interdisciplinary artist, about memory and its artistic manifestations.
Adapted for the stage by Naomi Yoeli / Music: Yossi Mar Haim / Slides and text: Lior Lerman
With: Dina Blei-schor; Miki Marmor; Yossi Mar Haim; Naomi Yoeli.
This is a Hebrew-language only event.
