Beit Avi Chai presents "It Sounds Better in Amharic": An original play combining humor with moving personal accounts.

Yossi Vassa tells the story of his 700-kilometer journey on foot from Ethiopia to a refugee camp in Sudan on his way to Israel, recalls terrible times in the refugee camps, relives memories of Ethiopia, and talks about the encounter with Israelis and his adjustment to Israel from unique, unconventional angles.

After the play, Aharon Feuerstein will speak with actor Yossi Vassa about the process of writing his personal story and about his place as an artist in Israeli society.
