Composers-musicians Dave Tarras and Naftali Brandwein brought the glorious Eastern European klezmer tradition to the land of jazz and became klezmer giants in New York of the early twentieth century. They had different styles-one wild and the other traditional and refined-but both left an undying mark on Jewish music.
