Beit Avi Chai presents "The Orchestra": An original musical composition.
• Wednesday, December 8, 8:30 PM
An original musical drama for narrator and string orchestra by composer Aaron Razel, based on S. J. Agnon's story "The Orchestra" (from Sefer ha-ma'asim)
This is a tale of personal soul-searching on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. In a plot that wavers between truth and fiction, the protagonist receives in the mail an invitation to a concert conducted by none other than the king of kings of conductors. Who is the conductor? Why was the protagonist invited? And why are all the musicians tied to their seats?
Composer: Aaron Razel
Storyteller: Yehoyachin Friedlander
Omer Arieli conducting a string orchestra
Bilha Ben-Eliyahu with opening remarks about Agnon's Sefer ha-ma'asim
This is a Hebrew-language only event.
