The Confederation House presents the 11th International Oud Festival, which will take place in Jerusalem and Nazareth from November 11-25, 2010.
The legendary Night Ark band (United States/Armenia) re-unites for a rare concert in Israel; opening the festival at the Jerusalem Theatre on November 11, 2010.
Twenty-five years ago, Night Ark released its first album-and changed the face of artistic and popular music. The album, which began thanks to an encounter between oud player Ara Dinkjian and percussionist Arto Tunçboyac?yan, paved the way for musical ensembles that have since revealed the joy, beauty and importance of encounters between traditions and musical genres from around the world.
Today, over a decade since the ensemble disbanded, and at the height of successful solo careers, Dinkjian and Tunçboyac?yan reunite for this concert at the Oud Festival, which includes familiar hits as well as new works, one composed specially for the Festival.
