The Israel Festival is proud to present Handel's oratorio, Esther (1720), which is considered to be the first English oratorio. It is based on text from Racine's play by the same name.
The piece will be performed by the Israeli Vocal Ensemble, which in recent years has established itself as Israel's leading professional choral group. They will be accompanied by the unique the Baroque Orchestra, which specializes in performing ancient music with ancient instruments, while remaining true to the original music.
