In May, the Confederation House brings an Indian music festival to Jerusalem for the first time. Titled "On the Wings of Raga", the festival will featured internationally renowned Indian artists not only in the capital but around the country. The festival is sponsored by the Indian Embassy and produced by Teamwork Productions.
Highlights include:
19.05 Opening Performance: Jerusalem Theater in the Henry Crown Hall, 21:00
Hariprasad Chaurasia, one of the great musicians of our time, performs on his bamboo flute, dedicated to the mythological Indian god Krishina.
22.05 Marigia, Beit Shmuel, 21:00
Members of the Marigia band play classic Indian tunes in the styles of jazz, blues, rock, Latin and Flamenco music, using traditional Indian instruments along with modern instruments like the electric guitar.
