Jerusalem's top events for the week of March 13th
Purim cheer is here! Purim is the one day a year when everybody in west Jerusalem, from ultra-Orthodox Meah Shearim to the youthful, secular city center, goes absolutely nuts. Going out: Purim in Jerusalem
The nightlife scene:
What: Purim for the party set: HaTza'atzua and the Student Union's annual Purim party will take place Sunday night at the Safra Square parking lot - first prize at the costume contest is a ticket to Rome! Meanwhile, Colony promises a wild Purim bash with a live show by Jerusalem Stone followed by a party with DJ Ron Yizraeli.
When: March 16 at 22:00 (Safra square party) and 21:30 (Colony)
Boogie is back
What: Boogie Purim at the Gerard Bechar Center: this Sunday night, a Carlebach style Megillah reading will be followed by a one night festival with freestyle dancing, open stage, in house and guest DJs, live music, chill out corners, a dance performance by international Sufi dancer Miriam Peretz, and more.
When: Sunday March 16 at 20:00
Megillah at the Begin Center
What: Come one, come all to a festive Megillah reading at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in cooperation with Tzohar. Costumes and noisemakers are encouraged to add to the festive atmosphere, and Purim treats and the text of the megillah will be handed out to children and participants. Entrance is free-all are welcome!

Kiddie stars at the Mall:
What: On Sunday and Monday, bring the kids to a super happy Purim celebration) at the Jerusalem Mall-Mall/) with all of their favorite kid celebrities. Other highlights include: Face painting, hair braiding, sweet surprises for kids, temporary tattoos, professional costume photography (fee), fondant workshops (fee), and lots more surprises.

Party where history was made
What: Ammunition Hill promises an exciting experience for the whole family over Purim on Sunday and Monday. Activities include experiential tours of the battle site, juggling workshops and performances, the site's sound and light show, temporary tattoos, face painting, and costume stations. Advance reservations recommended!

Family friendly museum Purim
What: The Museum of Islamic Art presents an historical adventure packed journey with a theatrical tour and arts and crafts. At the Tower of David Museum, enjoy pantomime and percussion shows, a make-up station and creative workshops, while the order of the day at the Museum for Italian Jewish Art is a comedia dell'arte performance for families.
When: Sunday and Monday March 16 and 17
Purim and beyond at Nocturno
What: Celebrate Purim at Nocturno on Monday with a live show by the Hudna Afrobeat Orchestra, a 13 member ensemble hailing from South Tel Aviv which plays original afro-beat, afro-funk and ethio-jazz style music. The party continues next Wednesday when the Paloma Blanca band plays at the Cafe.
When: Monday March 17 at 11:00 (Hudna Afrobeat) and Wednesday March 19 at 21:30 (Paloma Blanca)
Sufi fire and rap musical
What: The Museum of Islamic Art’s series of Sufi-inspired events is back by popular demand with “The Fire of Love”: a Sufi music and dance performance this Thusday. One Saturday night, catch the Incubator Theater's performance of "This City": a detective story rap musical by The Victor Jackson Show.
When: Thursday March 13 at 20:00 (The Fire of Love) and Saturday March 15 at 21:30 (This City)
Revving up:
What: As runners get in their last days of training before next Friday's Jerusalem marathon (more on that next week!) Binyanei HaUma hosts the annual Sports and Fitness expo from March 18-20. The fair will feature sports products for sale, activities, lessons and presentations, lectures by guests from abroad and more.

Tango Divino
What: The international Tango Show TANGO DIVINO comes to Jerusalem next Wednesday, taking the audience on a journey into the complex of life in Argentina.
