Who is like you, O Jerusalem, a city that knoweth no down time, that hath a plethora of festivals, events, shows and more, like grains of sand, even in the midst of November? Verily, the streets are filled with the sounds of ouds and mockumentaries, and yay even theater and laughter and rock and roll. Let us sing your praises for every day of the week. And we say, amen.

• The Giraffes may not have the cache of a Barry Sakharof or any of the many Banais, but when it comes to fun rocking party bands that kids love to bounce to, you can't get much better than the Giraffes, who take over the Yellow Submarine on Thursday night.
  

  Contemporary dance showcase Raising the Curtain has returned to Jerusalem this week. The festival, which concludes tonight, features three themed nights of performances at the Jerusalem Theatre, directed and choreographed by ten rising Israeli visionaries, as hand-picked by three artistic directors.

• It'll be another hundred years until there's a date with so many ones as appearing on Friday, 11/11/11. Don't miss your chance to prove one is anything but the loneliest number at Colony, which is offering drinks for 11 NIS, of course.
  
  As part of Jerusalem's academic orientation activities, "Azza Zaza" (Azza moves) takes place on Azza Street on Friday, in cooperation with Hebrew University. Attractions include workshops on interior design on a budget, furniture painting, music and an art exhibit by Bezalel graduates.

• The city may switch to a more relaxed pace on Saturdays, but over at Mini Israel, keeping the kiddoes entertained is the name of the game, especially if it is Saturday morning. Through December, the attraction is hosting puppet theater and clown shows on weekends.

• There's no better reason to get oud of the house than for the Oud Festival. On Sunday night, the Khan Theater hosts The Petrakis-Lopez-Chimirani Trio (pictured), also known as The Black Eyebrows.

• Some may say jazz speaks the universal language of cool, but Beit Avi Chai is betting on the existence of a thing called Hebrew jazz, to wit, Israeli jazz ensembles tackling classic Hebrew songs. First up in the series is the Black Guru Sextet performing the songs of the Gesher Hayarkon Trio this Monday.

• The Manofim mockumentary film fest isn't the only game in town this week. Over at the Cinematheque, the 8th annual Eco Film Fest is going down. On Tuesday, the festival comes to a finish with a Finnish production, Into Eternity, about the construction of a nuclear power plant.

• On Wednesday, get baby out of the corner and bring her or him to Malcha Mall for a Mommy and Baby Festival, complete with activities for both infants and the adults who care for them.
  
  Then head on over to Adom, where the George Duboff winery's acclaimed Beaujolais is toasted with a multi-course dinner starting at 21:30 and culminating at midnight with bottomless glasses of young red. Advance reservations are recommended.
