With Passover around the corner, many Jerusalemite are frantically cleaning, shopping, matza-making and cooking to get ready for the holiday. Some sanity and fresh air may be needed to refrain from becoming subsumed. Here's our list of the best excuses to put down the broom and get out of the house this week.

This evening, the Museum of Islamic Art hosts collector Christian Erber for an English-language lecture entitled Looking Behind the Veil, Reading Between the Lines, an exploration of Erber's weavings - many of which are on display at the museum's compelling Embroidered Dreams exhibit.

The daughter of one of Israel's most famous poets and playwrights, Nathan Alterman, Tirza Atar was a star in her own right, burning bright and being extinguished far too early. On Friday morning, her poems are be put to music and performed at the Tower of David Museum.

The kids love their Giraffot, and stream-of-consciousness frontman Gilad Kahane (pictured, with microphone), who recently struck out on his own, play Beit Avi Chai, and talks about his inspirations and his other artistic works, on Saturday night.

On Sunday, Leah Goldberg's classic story of a building's inhabitants looking for a new tenant comes to life at the Jerusalem Theatre.

Bob Dylan won't be coming to Israel until June at the earliest, but you won't have to wait to see Dilan and the Believers, a hard rocking group that will play Beit Avi Chai on Sunday night.

Make winter last just a little longer with a trip to Safra Square's ice skating rink before it closes up shop for good later this week.

On Wednesday, head to the Israel Museum to check out their new exhibit of prints and drawings from Budapest's Esterházy Collection.
