Americans, in the US and Israel as well, will be talking turkey this weekend with the Thanksgiving holiday. But for those who have no affinity for Detroit Lions, giant balloon parades, yams and turducken, this weekend will still be a big one. The city has brought back it's three weekend Hamshushalayim extravagnza, which kicks off tonight with free shows and special events. So whether you prefer stuffing turkey in commemoration of some pilgrims' progress 400 years ago, or stuffing yourself in commemoration of great Hamshushalayim deals at restaurants, this week has plenty to offer.

Israeli-Americans will have a tough choice to make tonight. They can either head over to the Inbal Hotel for a taste of home at their Thanksgiving dinner, or they can do like the Romans - er, Jerusalemites - and celebrate Hamshushalayim with a flurry of events for the kickoff night.

On Friday night, Nechama Esther hits Hama'abada (The Lab) for a debut show of English and Hebrew songs.

Kids can feel awfully small sometimes, with them being small and all. A trip to see "Gulliver: Journey to Lilliput" Saturday at the Train theater will have them feeling 10 feet tall (but they'll still be small).

Speaking of short, wasn't it hilarious when Hollywood paired up Danny Devito with Arnold Schwarzanegger for the movie "Twins"? Those going to the free show by the same name at the Psik theater Sunday and expecting a wacky buddy comedy will be in for a huge shock. But the play "Twins", based on classical structures and containing direct quotes from Moliere and Goldoni plays, is still a good bet.

On Monday, the Seventh Day music ensemble visits Beit Avi Chai with traditional Jewish and Israeli music for their Monday concert series.

Brr. On Tuesday December blows in with the cold, but nothing should warm your inside like finding out that Jerusalem bar Mia will marking whiskey month. This means tastings, specials, and even foods that go well with whiskey on tap. Start the month off right with a visit there.

Sure, the Illiad was good when you read it in 9th grade, filled with action, adventure and one-eyed monsters. But the Greek classic you read was probably missing clowns and an Italian family. If it had, it might have won numerous prestigious awards, like the production of "Odyseeues Chaoticus" at the Kahn Theater Wednesday.
