End the summer gratis with Mosh Ben Ari and Sarit Hadad
There seems to be no more fitting way to end off Jerusalem's summer of blowout festivals than yet another huge concert extravaganza. This Saturday night, the summer will come to an unofficial end at Independence Park with an all night "White Night" (Laila Lavan) party, featuring Sarit Hadad (pictured), Mosh Ben Ari, the Mercedes Band (also pictured) and others.
The free concert will be coming on the heels of two days of huge concerts connected with the Beer Festival at the very same location, which has been a hotbed of hot concerts all season long, starting with the original Student Day White Night all night party that kicked off the summer at the end of May.
While the music is a huge part of the festival, which this time around is being aimed a slightly younger set, there is actually a ton more going on. The all night concert party will represent the culmination of four days of events dedicated to summer's end, including a beauty contest in Independence Park on Tuesday, a free party at the Yellow Submarine on Wednesday night and a day of youth rule over the city on Thursday.
Saturday night is the centerpiece though, and in addition to the big concert at Independence Park, revelers will also be able to visit an improv comedy show on Hillel Street just after midnight, and a stand up comedy show by Uri Hizkiya at 2 a.m. at the Gerard Bechar Center (decent Hebrew skills required), followed a 2:30 a.m. cabaret show. Come 3 a.m., parents won't have to worry because they'll know their kids are at an after party until the return of the sun.
All through the night a number of restaurants around town will offer special deals for the massed partiers expected to throng the city. Parents, don't wait up for your kids.
